Visiting Woodcliff Lake

Woodcliff Lake offers a quiet Pascack Valley visit centered on its reservoir landscape, historic properties, county and borough recreation, commuter rail access and the Broadway/Tice/Chestnut Ridge business corridors. It is primarily a residential and business community rather than a traditional tourism town.

What to see & do

Woodcliff Lake Reservoir

The reservoir is the borough's defining landscape and a major drinking-water facility. Fishing is permit-controlled by the reservoir owner, and borough rules prohibit fishing from specified causeway and Pascack Road locations.

Wood Dale County Park

Bergen County's 118-acre park offers a pond, walking paths, playground, picnic areas, dog park, fishing and renovated tennis/pickleball facilities.

Old Mill Park & Pool

The borough's seasonal Old Mill Pool and surrounding recreation area are a major resident amenity. The 2026 pool season runs through September 7.

Peter P. Post House & Historic Park

The historic house on Pascack Road and nearby borough historic resources reflect Woodcliff Lake's Dutch-American farming and mill history.

Broadway & rail station

The station area gives visitors a compact neighborhood cluster with local food, services and access to the Pascack Valley Line.

Tice's Corner & Chestnut Ridge

Destination shopping, restaurants, healthcare, senior living and BMW's U.S. headquarters make the western commercial corridor an important part of modern Woodcliff Lake.

Lodging: important 2026 update

The former Hilton Woodcliff Lake is closed. Borough Land Use Board records state that the 338-room hotel at 200 Tice Boulevard ceased operations in February 2024. The property is now subject to redevelopment planning. NJTGO does not list it as an operating hotel.

As of the September 2026 review, NJTGO could not verify an operating hotel, motel or bed-and-breakfast within Woodcliff Lake municipal limits. Visitors should plan on nearby lodging.

Visitor tips

NJTGO lodging policy: In-town and nearby lodging are clearly separated. A property's presence in older directories is not treated as proof that it is still operating.
